DEPARTURE: Jay McGrath Joins Alfreton Town On Loan

Coventry City U21s captain Jay McGrath has joined National League North side Alfreton Town on a one-month loan deal, following the clubs U21s season on hold during the winter break.

The 19-year-old has played almost every game for the clubs U21s this season, taking the armband from departed midfielder Jonny Ngandu in the summer. It is also the players first loan spell away from the club since he originally joined the Skyblues back in 2020 from Non-League side Mickelover Sports following a successful trial.

At the time of the transfer, McGrath joins his new side, who currently sit 13th in the National League North table, just five points outside of the division's play-offs after 18 league matches. He becomes the third player in the last few days to complete a temporary loan switch, following the loan departures of Tom Billson and Luke Bell

SBA Talk wishes you the best of luck Jay!
