McFadzean Out For ‘Several Weeks’

Coventry City have received a major injury blow, with the news that Skyblues centre-back Kyle McFadzean has been ruled out for several weeks, after picking up an injury during the mid-season break in Spain.

The 35-year-old has been a rock at the back this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring once. His individual performances alongside loanees Jonathan Panzo and Callum Doyle as well as Michael Rose have led to the club breaking a club record in recent weeks, with the amount of consecutive clean sheets, especially away from home.

In the pre-match interview, manager Mark Robins has confirmed the defender will be absent. He stated, “Although he wasn’t allowed to play tomorrow because of his suspension, unfortunately Kyle’ going to miss a few more games as well, so we are where we are. It’s going to be a fair length of time. I don’t know how long yet because things have to settle. The scan has shown a tear in his calf and he has to overcome that. Knowing Kyle he will fight to get back earlier than the prognosis, but let’s see.”

It’s a big loss for the Skyblues and leaves us down to the bare three centre-backs, so with the January window looming, will Mark Robins be in the market for another addition at the back?
