There are currently eleven Skyblues players currently out on loan as of 8th December 2022. Following the conclusion of this weekend’s matches and the games in mid-week, let’s take a look at how each player got on…
Julien Dacosta (Shrewsbury Town)
Full-back Julien Dacosta remains out with an injury, and was therefore left out of the Matchday squad as Shrewsbury Town hosted Lincoln City in League One on Saturday afternoon. Shrewsbury won the match 2-0, with former Skyblues midfielder Tom Bayliss scoring.
Danny Cashman (Walsall FC)
U21s forward Danny Cashman was an unused substitute for the League Two side Walsall on Friday evening. The Saddlers picked up a 2-0 victory away to Doncaster Rovers but despite being on the bench, he wasn’t brought on and therefore, was unable to add to his appearance tally.
George Burroughs (AFC Telford United)
U21s defender George Burroughs returned to the starting eleven, as they hosted Banbury United, managed by former Skyblues hero Andy Whing. Burroughs grabbed his first goal for the club by smashing home from six yards from a corner. Burroughs grabbed his first ever senior goal as the club won 2-1. In mid-week, he also started as the club lost 1-0 to Bradford Park Avenue.
Tom Billson (Kidderminster Harriers)
Goalkeeper Tom Billson made his third appearance for the sixth tier side on Friday evening. Billson played the full 90 minutes but was booked during the match and failed to hold a late penalty, as they drew 1-1 against Alfreton Town. Also this week, he played the full 90 in the leagues first ever TV game, but Kidderminster lost 2-0 to Chester City.
Jay McGrath (Alfreton Town)
Following on from the comment above, U21s captain Jay McGrath was named on the bench for Alfreton against Kidderminster Harriers, but was never brought on. He remains with one appearance so far, as the two sides drew 1-1. In mid-week, McGrath scored his first ever senior goal in a 6-1 win against Ilkeston Town in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
Luke Bell (Slimbridge AFC)
Bell made his second appearance whilst being on loan at Slimbridge AFC at the weekend. He played the full 90 minutes again for his side, except they were unable to get a result, losing 1-0 to Sholing FC.
Abel Alabi (Tamworth FC)
U21s defender Abel Alabi was left out of Tamworth’s Matchday squad, as they hosted Bedford Town in the Southern League Premier Central Division on Saturday afternoon. Tamworth were held to a 2-2 draw, before losing 3-1 in mid-week to AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Dermi Lusala & Harrison Nee (Barwell FC)
U21s duo Dermi Lusala and Harrison Nee both started the match for Barwell against Nuneaton Borough on Saturday afternoon. Lusala played the full 90 minutes, and continued to impress whilst Nee grabbed his first senior goal late on in a victory.
Ricardo Dinanga & Marco Rus (Hereford FC)
Marco Rus was handed his first start for Hereford against AFC Telford United, whilst Ricardo Dinanga was named on the bench, before eventually replacing Rus late on. The game finished 2-1 to Kings Lynn Town. Elsewhere, Rus grabbed his first senior goal in mid-week, with Dinanga coming on as a late substitute as Hereford drew 1-1 against Chorley FC after conceding a very late equaliser.
