Coventry City manager Mark Robins has confirmed the clubs star man Viktor Gyokeres will be going nowhere in the January transfer window, as interest builds in the Swedish international
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon released a post on his Patreon account suggesting Burnley had the Skyblues forward as their top January target and were preparing a big offer to land him. However, it was also confirmed that Burnley would not be willing to match the price tag of £20,000,000 but hoped to try and convince Coventry due to the off the field issues.
However, in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Reading, Mark Robins has confirmed that he won’t be departing the club in the January transfer window. He stated, “Obviously everyone is doing a job on him to try and sell him in January but that ain’t happening. I am just saying there’s absolutely zero chance that he will be sold in January.
The news is a welcomed boost to the club and the fans but also it solidifies what the incoming owner Doug King has stated on the radio, when he confirmed that the club would not be selling any key players in January, no matter what the cost.
