There are currently ten Skyblues players that are currently out on loan at the time of writing. Following the conclusion of the football matches on Saturday 26th November, let’s take a look at each loan player, whether they played and how they got on during their respected matches…
Julien Dacosta (Shrewsbury Town)
French full-back Julien Dacosta was yet again left out of the match day squad for the League One side, ahead of their FA Cup second round match against league rivals Peterborough United. Dacosta is believed to be suffering with a muscular injury, which has already limited him to just seven appearances for the club since joining the club in the summer on a season-long-loan.
Danny Cashman (Walsall FC)
U21s winger Danny Cashman was named on the substitute bench for Walsall in their FA Cup Second round match against league rivals Carlisle United at the Poundland stadium. He came on as a second-half substitute, during the 76th minute, replacing Liam Kinsella. At the time of his substitution, the Saddlers were losing one-nil, but went on to win two-one to send them through to Round Three of this seasons competition, where the Skyblues will join the competition.
George Burroughs (AFC Telford United)
U21s defender George Burroughs extended his loan spell with the National League North side, earlier this week. However, he was named as a substitute during their league match against Curzon Ashton. Unfortunately for Burroughs, he never came on and therefore wasn’t able to add to his appearance tally this weekend. He’s currently made eight appearances for the club this season, since joining on loan in September.
Tom Billson (Kidderminster Harriers)
U21s goalkeeper Tom Billson started his second consecutive game for the club on Saturday, as they fell to a one-nil defeat against league opponents Gloucester City. Despite making two/three smart saves, he was beaten in the second-half and the club suffered another defeat as they remain in mid-table. This was Billson’s second appearance for the club.
Jay McGrath (Alfreton Town)
U21s captain Jay McGrath was left out of the clubs matchday squad on Saturday afternoon, as they slipped to a two-nil away defeat against a strong AFC Fylde side. To date, despite being left out, McGrath remains with just the one senior appearance for the club, since completing a loan move within the last week or so.
Luke Bell (Slimbridge AFC)
U21s youngster Luke Bell linked up with Non-League side Slimbridge AFC on an emergency one-month loan earlier this week and made his debut for the club on Saturday. However, Bell was unable to keep a clean sheet, as his new side fell to a one-nil league defeat against Westbury FC in a game full of chances for either side.
Abel Alabi (Tamworth FC)
Centre-back Abel Alabi linked up with Non-League side Tamworth FC earlier this week, just a week after we beat them in the Birmingham Senior Cup. However, due to recently arriving at the club, Alabi was left out of the clubs squad for their league match against Nuneaton Borough away from home, which Tamworth drew one-all.
Dermi Lusala & Harrison Nee (Barwell FC)
U21s duo Dermi Lusala and Harrison Nee were placed immediately in the clubs starting eleven on Saturday afternoon. Lusala played the full ninety minutes, whilst Nee played until he was substituted in the 78th minute. Barwell went on to score a late goal, and therefore, beat Stourbridge FC by a single goal to nil.
Ricardo Dinanga (Hereford FC)
Irish youngster Ricardo Dinanga had his loan move to Hereford confirmed earlier on Saturday afternoon, ahead of their match against Darlington in the National League North. Dinanga was named on the bench, but came on in the 71st minute but didn’t contribute to a goal or assist, as the club fell to defeat by two goals to one.
