Skyblues "Enquire" About Brighton Forward

Coventry City have reportedly submitted a loan enquiry for Brighton Hove Albion forward Deniz Undav, alongside several other EFL Championship sides ahead of the January transfer window.

According to an article from Football League WorldThe Skyblues have made an approach for the 26-year-old, who cost the Premier League side £6million back in January 2022. However, since returning in the summer, he has found game-time very difficult to come-by. Despite scoring 25 goals in 33 league matches in the Belgium Pro League this season, he has been limited to just eight Premier League appearances, with all of these being substitute appearances. On the day of the rumour (Thursday 8th December), Undav netted both goals for The Seagulls in a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, during a mid-season break friendly.

Mark Robins' side will almost definitely be in the market for a striker in January, following the injuries to trio Matt Godden, Martyn Waghorn and Tyler Walker, and a loan signing is a definite possibility, to accompany Viktor Gyokeres. This is despite the growing amount of interest in the Swedish International from Premier League trio West Ham United, Leeds United and Everton, as well as league rivals Burnley.

Championship sides including Burnley, Norwich City, QPR and Sunderland as well as sides from Germany are also keen on the Skyblues target, which does make a move unlikely. In fact, the only reason why Undav could make the switch to the CBS Arena would be due to the growing relationship between both clubs, especially with the success that Coventry have given to Brighton loanees in the past, with the likes of Leo Ostigard and Viktor Gyokeres.

However, feel free to let us know on Twitter (@SBATalk_), What you guys think of this rumour, would he be a realistic target?
