Player Biography
Brazilian born, Dutch midfielder Gustavo Hamer joined the Skyblues from Dutch top-flight side PEC Zwolle for a fee of £1.5million. That was the first time in over a decade that the club paid seven figures for a footballer, so the expectation was massive. In his debut season, Hamer stood out as one of the Championship's best central midfielders, including a 35-yard-header against Watford.
Last season, Hamer continued to impress, contributing to even more goals as well as nine assists in the process as the Skyblues finished 12th in the Championship table. This season has been tough for Hamer, as he has suffered two red cards already in the league but also scored a screamer against Luton Town.
