
Player Biography
Young defender Jay McGrath joined the Skyblues in the Summer of 2020, following a successful trial. He arrived from Non-League side Mickelover Sports, following the pattern of former Skyblues defender Morgan Williams. He was immediately placed in the clubs U18s, ahead of a very busy 2020/21 season.
During the 2021/22 season, McGrath caught the eye and was promoted to the clubs U23s following his impressive performances for the clubs U18s. He played a key role in the clubs run to winning the 2021/22 Professional Development League title, by beating Bristol City in the final. He signed a one-year deal in June 2022 and is currently the U21s captain. In November 2022, McGrath joined National League North side Alfreton Town on a one month loan.
